Bedding Materials
If the liquid does not reach the material to be composted, it is advisable to fill the bottom with peat mullet.
The simplest variety, uncoated and unmade or natural, is good. Even pellets, which also have a high suction capacity, can be used as bottom material, but peat mullet is both cheaper and easier to reuse in the garden.

The amount of peat mullet that should be placed in the bottom depends on whether the compost contains urine or not or other liquid, and how much to compost, which in turn depends on how long you continue to replenish the container.

The longer you continue to refill one and the same compost container
The more fluid is formed, and the more peat or pellets you should put in the bottom.
The bottom layer should not be mixed with the compost material. The
should be left to take care of the liquid.

Bottom with a 20–30 cm thick layer of peat mullet. More is needed if you use another material or if you expect to continue to replenish the same compost for more than a year.
