The package lasts 2-3 months for a 3-person family (depending on the family's habits). You use 2-3 tablespoons of bedding per liter of food waste.
Bokashi straw is perishable and usually lasts at least one year in unopened packaging if stored in a dark and cool place. Supplied in an airtight bag, gross weight 1 kg.
